Brian Hanna, AIF®, EVP Retirement Plans, Everhart Advisors

Brian Hanna is a partner and EVP-Retirement Savings Plans for Everhart Advisors. Brian leads the Everhart Advisors team of plan consultants and relationship managers in serving the unique needs of retirement plan sponsors. His team seeks to help protect plan fiduciaries from liability, while enhancing investment opportunities and helping employees achieve financial security. Everhart Advisors was honored to be recognized as the Retirement Plan Mega Team of the Year in 2018 by PLANSPONSOR®. Brian has received formal training in fiduciary responsibility and investment due diligence, and has extensive experience in plan design, vendor selection, cost control, and employee communication strategy.

In June 2017, Brian and firm president, Scott Everhart, authored and released The 401(k) Owner’s Manual: A Blueprint for Building and Maintaining an Elite 401(k) Plan for Your Employees. Brian has been a guest lecturer at workshops presented with the U.S. Department of Labor, Ohio Society of CPAs, Columbus Bar Association, and Center for Due Diligence, along with the Supplier Associate Relations Group (SARG) of Honda North America and other trade associations.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University, with a specialization in Finance. Brian acquired the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies in association with the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh in 2008.


Tom Carline, CPFA™, CPC, QPA, QKC and QKA®, Retirement Plan Consultant & Wealth Manager, Everhart Advisors

Tom Carline is a Retirement Plan Consultant & Wealth Manager at Everhart Advisors. Tom has over 13 years of experience in retirement plan design, compliance, and administration. Before joining Everhart Advisors, Tom lead the region’s largest independent third-party administration firm in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. He has helped hundreds of companies nationwide optimize their retirement plan strategy.

Tom concentrates on advising cash balance plans, providing tax planning strategies for business owners and enhanced retirement benefits for senior executives.

Overall, Tom works with small-to-medium-sized businesses to maximize the utility of their corporate retirement plan and with individuals on creating financial independence. Tom believes every business deserves a world-class retirement plan and every person a secure retirement.

Tom has earned numerous professional designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries such as: Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor™ (CPFA), Certified Pension Consultant (CPC), Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), Qualified 401(k) Consultant (QKC), and Qualified 401(k) Administrator® (QKA).

Tom has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University with a major in finance


John Garrity, CPA, CFE, Shareholder, Brixey & Meyer, Inc.

John Garrity, CPA, CFE is a Shareholder at Brixey & Meyer, Inc. He has nearly 15 years of accounting and assurance experience. During that time, John has performed financial statement audits and reviews for clients in a variety of industries as well as public and private companies. As a Shareholder with Brixey & Meyer, John works directly with his clients to meet their audit and financial reporting needs, including audits of Company sponsored employee benefit plans, including 401k, defined benefit and ESOPs. John also adds value to his clients through a variety of consulting, technical accounting, internal controls implementation, documentation, and business advisory projects.

In addition to working with his clients, John gives back to the community through his involvement on the Board and Finance Committee of Brigid’s Path, the finance committee for the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, is the former chair of the Brixey & Meyer Community Outreach Foundation and past president of the Kettering Backpack Program.


Aaron Hassinger, CIMA, C(k)P, Vice President, Account Manager, Defined Contribution Practice, PIMCO

Aaron Hassinger is a vice president and account manager in the defined contribution practice, covering the Great Lakes region. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2017, he was a regional vice president and DCIO specialist at Fidelity Investments. Previously, Mr. Hassinger was a vice president on the global and U.S. large-cap growth teams at Putnam Investments. He has 25 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from Suffolk University Sawyer School of Business. He received an undergraduate degree from Eastern Nazarene College. Mr. Hassinger was named one of the top 10 DC Wholesalers by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
